Are you worried about the resurgence of the pandemic and the breakthrough cases of covid? Is it keeping you up at night and making it really difficult to sleep soundly? Many of us continue to drive ourselves at night with work, catching up on news, social media on our phones or tablets, and then wonder why we have insomnia and cannot sleep.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, over 70 million Americans suffer from sleep issues and wakefulness. With our 24 hour cable channels, internet, and smart phones, it’s no wonder we have trouble winding down before sleep. It’s so important to empty our minds, release our thoughts and worries. Whether you have sleep problems or not, guided meditation can help you release your day, as you drift off to sleep, so that you can have a deep and restful sleep.
Why does meditation help with sleep?
Your mind and body craves rest to function at its best. Treat yourself to a relaxing restful sleep! And what about our children? Pediatricians report that more than one third of young children have sleep issues. Recent studies show how poor sleep early in childhood may be linked to later cognitive and behavioral problems. According to Chief of Pediatrics at MassGeneral Hospital, Elsie Taveras, MD, their latest study suggests that early poor sleep at age 3 to 4 had persistent effects with more hyperactivity and inattention, emotional, conduct and poor peer relationships.
